Job Description

A supermarket cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions, including scanning items, collecting payments, and providing receipts. handling cash and electronic payments, managing a cash drawer, bagging groceries, and maintaining a clean checkout area. Additionally, cashiers assist customers, answer questions, resolve issues like returns and exchanges, and sometimes help with stocking or product placement.

Job Responsibilities :

Process transactions: Scan and accurately total items, handle various payment methods (cash, credit/debit cards, digital wallets), issue receipts, and bag purchases.

Cash management: Maintain an accurate cash drawer by counting funds at the beginning and end of shifts and preparing transaction reports.

Customer service: Greet customers, answer questions about products and promotions, and provide a positive checkout experience. Handle returns and exchanges: Process customer returns and exchanges efficiently and in accordance with store policies. Maintain the checkout area: Keep the checkout lane and surrounding area clean, organized, and well-stocked. .
