Cashier

Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling customer billing transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering courteous and professional customer service.

The role involves operating POS systems, managing cash and digital payments, and ensuring smooth checkout operations in compliance with company policies and strictly adhering to SOPs issued by management.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately process customer billing using POS systems. Handle cash, card, UPI, and other digital payment methods. Ensure correct pricing, discounts, and promotional offers during billing. Maintain cash drawer and perform shift-wise and end-of-day reconciliation. Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges as per store policy. Address basic customer queries related to billing and payments. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the billing counter area. Follow SOPs for cash handling, fraud prevention, and loss control. Report billing discrepancies or system issues to the Floor Supervisor or Manager. Support customer service initiatives during peak hours.

Qualifications & Experience

BCom degree (mandatory). 1-2 years of experience as a cashier in the retail or supermarket industry. Hands-on experience with POS systems and billing software. Basic knowledge of retail operations and customer service standards. Familiarity with digital payment methods (UPI, cards, wallets).
