Job Description

The Cashier is the first and last point of contact for our guests and plays a vital role in the efficient operation of Korma Food and Beverage. This role is responsible for processing guest orders and payments accurately, maintaining the cash register, and providing exceptional, friendly customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Hospitality



Warmly

greet all customers

as they enter and thank them as they leave, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Answer customer questions regarding

menu items

, pricing, and daily specials with detailed knowledge.

Resolve customer complaints

regarding orders or payments promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the Manager when necessary. Proactively offer suggestions or inform guests about

promotions or special offers

to enhance their experience and increase sales.

Order and Payment Processing



Accurately take and enter customer food and beverage orders into the

Point-of-Sale (POS) system

. Process all forms of payment, including

cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments

, efficiently and securely. Maintain accurate accountability for all transactions, including ringing in correct prices and quantities, and issuing

receipts and correct change

. Handle

refunds and exchanges

according to company policy. Ensure that all special order instructions or modifications are clearly communicated to the kitchen/bar staff.

Cash Handling & Accountability



Count and verify the contents of the

cash drawer

at the beginning and end of each shift.

Balance the cash register

against the POS system transactions and report any discrepancies immediately to the Supervisor. Adhere strictly to all established cash handling and internal control procedures.

Operational Support



Maintain a

clean, organized, and stocked

cashier station, counter, and surrounding public areas. Assist with

light stocking

of front-of-house supplies (e.g., napkins, cutlery, condiments, cups). Collaborate effectively with all team members (servers, kitchen staff) to ensure a

smooth and fast flow

of service. Assist with other duties as assigned by the Manager during downtime or busy periods (e.g., helping to clear tables, running food).
Qualifications and Skills

Required



High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a Cashier, preferably in a

high-volume restaurant, cafe, or food service

environment.

Basic mathematical skills

and the ability to calculate change quickly and accurately.

Proficiency in operating POS systems

(mention specific systems if applicable, e.g., Toast, Square). Excellent communication and strong

interpersonal skills

. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10-15 lbs (e.g., stock).

Preferred

integrity and attention to detail
