Duties

Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision and confidence Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly and addressing their needs promptly Assist customers with product demos and answer questions about merchandise to promote sales Maintain organized checkout areas, ensuring quick and efficient transactions during busy periods Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented Use strong communication skills to engage with bilingual customers and provide clear assistance Practice excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or directing calls within the store

Experience

Prior cashiering experience in a retail environment or grocery store setting is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn! Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction balancing Proven ability to upsell products and promote store promotions effectively Supervising experience is a plus--ready to lead by example and support team members when needed Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs effectively Strong communication skills to ensure clear interactions with customers and team members Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and grocery store operations will help you excel in this role
