Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling all billing and payment transactions accurately and efficiently in the jewellery showroom. The role requires a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and customer service, as the position involves handling high-value transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Handle billing for gold, diamond, silver, and gemstone jewellery. Accurately process customer payments via cash, card, UPI, bank transfer, and cheque. Generate invoices, receipts, and credit notes using billing software. Verify jewellery weight, making charges, taxes (GST), and discounts before billing. Maintain daily cash balance and reconcile cash, card, and digital payments. Prepare daily sales reports and submit them to accounts/store manager. Safely handle cash and ensure proper storage as per company policy. Coordinate with sales staff for order billing, advances, and final settlements. Handle customer queries related to billing, payments, and invoices. Assist in gold exchange, old gold purchase billing, and scheme payments if applicable. Ensure compliance with GST and company accounting procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum

Graduate / 12th Pass

(Commerce preferred).

1-3 years of experience

as a cashier in a jewellery or retail showroom. Knowledge of

GST billing

and jewellery billing formats. Familiarity with jewellery ERP or POS systems. Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail. Honest, reliable, and able to handle confidential financial information. Good communication and customer handling skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in gold exchange and old jewellery purchase billing. Knowledge of hallmarking and jewellery pricing structure. Basic accounting knowledge.

Working Conditions

Retail showroom environment. Standing for long hours during peak sales periods. Weekends and festive season work required.
