Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter with experience in working with sustainable materials to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for eco-friendly craftsmanship and a keen eye for detail. As a Carpenter at Adithya Lamps, you will be responsible for constructing and assembling custom, sustainable lighting fixtures, working closely with our designers and production team to create beautiful and functional lighting products for residential and commercial spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Custom Carpentry:
Build and assemble eco-friendly lighting fixtures, including wooden frames, stands, and elements for table lamps, floor lamps, wall-mounted fixtures, and pendant lights.
Material Expertise:
Work primarily with sustainable materials, including wood, rattan, banana fiber, and other eco-friendly substances, ensuring the designs maintain their artistic integrity while being environmentally responsible.
Collaboration:
Work closely with designers and project managers to bring conceptual designs to life, ensuring quality, sustainability, and functionality in each piece.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and design plans to precisely measure, cut, and assemble materials to spec.
Quality Craftsmanship:
Ensure all lighting fixtures are crafted to the highest standards, with attention to detail in both aesthetics and structural integrity.
Tool Maintenance:
Operate and maintain woodworking tools and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency in the production process.
Eco-Conscious Production:
Contribute to the studio's eco-friendly ethos by prioritizing sustainable practices in all carpentry work, minimizing waste, and considering environmental impact in every project.
Installation:
Assist with the installation of completed lighting fixtures, ensuring proper assembly and functional testing before delivery or display.
Time Management:
Handle multiple projects while adhering to deadlines, ensuring that each project maintains the highest quality and craftsmanship standards.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Carpenter, ideally working with sustainable or eco-friendly materials.
Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and tools, particularly in the context of custom lighting and furniture.
Ability to read and interpret design plans and blueprints.
Keen attention to detail and craftsmanship, particularly with eco-conscious and aesthetic designs.
Proficiency in woodworking tools and machinery.
Understanding and adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with designers and production staff.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with sustainable materials such as rattan, banana fiber, and reclaimed wood.
