The Care Taker is responsible for providing personal assistance, daily care, and support to patients or elderly clients at home or healthcare facilities. The role involves helping clients with day-to-day activities, maintaining hygiene, ensuring comfort, and assisting medical or nursing staff when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Assistance
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
Ensure personal hygiene and cleanliness of the patient.
Monitor patient condition and report any changes to the nurse or supervisor.
Support in medication reminders and simple medical routines as advised by healthcare staff.
Household Support
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the patient's room or home environment.
Prepare and serve meals as per dietary requirements.
Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for the patient.
Companionship & Emotional Support
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, especially the elderly.
Engage patients in light conversations or activities for mental well-being.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with the nursing team and report daily activities or incidents.
Maintain basic care logs and shift records.
Cooperate with visiting nurses, doctors, or physiotherapists.
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum qualification: 10th standard or equivalent.
Prior experience as a Care Taker / Attender / Home Health Aide preferred.
Basic understanding of hygiene, safety, and patient handling.
Ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions.
Kind, patient, and responsible attitude toward elderly and sick individuals.
