Job Description

- Cardiac OT Scrub Nurse

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare the cardiac operating theatre, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures. Assist the cardiac surgeon by performing sterile scrubbing, handling instruments, and maintaining strict aseptic technique. Ensure availability, functionality, and sterility of cardiac surgical equipment (e.g., grafts, cannulas, bypass instruments). Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, congenital surgeries, etc. Coordinate with perfusionists, anesthetists, and OT technicians for smooth workflow. Maintain accurate surgical counts and document intraoperative nursing records. Support postoperative transfer and ensure safe handover of the patient.

Skills & Qualifications:

GNM/BSc Nursing with OT/cardiac surgery experience preferred. Strong knowledge of surgical asepsis, cardiac instruments, and emergency protocols. Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly during critical situations.
