We seek a person with experience truly merging the \xe2\x80\x9ctheoretical\xe2\x80\x9d with the \xe2\x80\x9cpractical\xe2\x80\x9d into workable solutions. You\'ll stay on top of tools and technology in the marketplace that are helpful in fighting this problem, work closely with Operations to ensure lessons are learned from the ways we are beat, and feed these learnings back into our strategies. You\'ll use cutting-edge analytics, data, and technology to reduce both first party and third party fraud losses in the Card portfolio. Fraud types we combat include any attack-vector against existing credit card accounts - examples include account takeover, balance transfer / credit card loan fraud, bust-out tactics, and first party credit card fraud. The team works closely with partners across Chase to develop and implement strategies (Operations, Scoring and the Implementation teams), as well as with external data providers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of credit card identity theft strategies.
  • Evaluating strategy effectiveness in preventing losses.
  • Ensure strategies consider impact on operational expense and customer experience.
  • Conduct ongoing and adhoc research to identify fraud trends.
  • Perform simulations to determine if rules can be implemented to mitigate losses.
  • Present strategies for executive buy-in and approval.
  • See analytic and strategy development initiatives through until implementation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in a Risk Management or quantitative role, preferably in credit cards or financial services.
  • Experience with SAS and SQL and ability to query large amounts of data and transform the raw data into actionable management information.
  • Ability to create a vision and actionable roadmap with a focus on innovative, yet practical solutions.
  • Ability to partner and influence across organizations to deliver new capabilities.
  • Ability to plan and execute proofs-of-concept (POC\'s) with external data and technology providers, and to manage several parallel and ongoing POC\'s over time.
  • Experience with SAS and SQL and ability to query large amounts of data and transform the raw data into actionable management information.
  • Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited college/university in a quantitative discipline.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Extensive knowledge (5+ years) of detection & mitigation practices for fraud types, preferably those related to credit abuse / first party fraud.
  • Hands-on experience with and knowledge of various fraud-loss-mitigation tools and technologies in the marketplace, especially those related to synthetic identity.
  • Master\'s Degree from an accredited college/university in a quantitative discipline.
  • Exceptional partnering skills and \xe2\x80\x9cstory-telling\xe2\x80\x9d skills.
