Car Detailing Technician - Key Duties & Responsibilities1. Exterior Cleaning & Preparation

Perform pre-wash and thorough cleaning of vehicle exteriors using foam, pressure washers, and suitable cleaning agents. Remove tar, stains, grease, and surface contaminants before polishing or coating. Dry the vehicle carefully to prevent water marks or scratches.

2. Paint Correction & Polishing

Conduct multi-stage paint correction using rubbing compounds, polishing pads, and machines to remove swirl marks, oxidation, and minor scratches. Restore paint gloss and prepare the surface for coating application. Ensure proper inspection under suitable lighting to verify surface uniformity.

3. Ceramic Coating Application

Apply ceramic coating as per manufacturer's procedure -- ensuring even coverage and proper curing time. Maintain clean, dust-free environment during application to achieve high-gloss, durable finish. Educate customers (if required) about coating care and maintenance schedule.

4. Borophene / Graphene Coating Application

Prepare surface similarly to ceramic coating, ensuring complete decontamination. Apply borophene or graphene-based coating to provide enhanced hydrophobic and anti-scratch properties. Buff and level coating surfaces to achieve deep gloss and long-term protection.

5. Interior Cleaning & Detailing

Clean, vacuum, and shampoo vehicle interiors including carpets, seats, dashboards, and door panels. Treat leather, vinyl, and plastic surfaces with appropriate protectants and conditioners. Deodorize interiors and ensure all surfaces are dry and spotless.

6. Engine Bay & Alloy Cleaning

Perform safe cleaning of engine bay using water-based degreasers. Polish metal and alloy parts for aesthetic enhancement.

7. Quality Check & Final Inspection

Conduct pre-delivery inspection to ensure all detailing work meets company quality standards. Remove residues, streaks, or missed spots before vehicle handover. Take pre- and post-detailing photographs for record and customer communication.

8. Maintenance & Safety

Maintain detailing equipment (buffers, sprayers, vacuum cleaners) in clean, functional condition. Use PPE (gloves, mask, goggles) and follow safety protocols while handling chemicals. Keep work area organized, clean, and hazard-free.

9. Customer Service & Documentation

Record detailing jobs done, chemicals used, and coating batch numbers. Explain completed work and aftercare instructions to customers. Support service advisors or sales team with detailing-related information when needed.
