Captain - Food & Beverage Service
to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in luxury hotel operations, with a solid understanding of high-end F&B service standards. The role will require the Captain to supervise and lead the F&B service team, ensuring a seamless and exceptional dining experience for guests. A hotel management qualification is mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Engagement:
Provide personalized and exceptional service to guests in all dining areas, ensuring that their needs and preferences are met.
Lead by example, maintaining the highest standards of service, ensuring guest satisfaction, and handling any guest feedback or complaints professionally and promptly.
Supervise the food and beverage service process, from greeting guests to post-meal feedback, ensuring every guest experiences excellence.
Team Leadership & Supervision:
Supervise, train, and guide F&B service staff, ensuring they adhere to the hotel's service standards.
Coordinate and delegate duties efficiently, ensuring smooth operation within the team.
Conduct regular briefings to communicate key information about the day's events, specials, or guest preferences.
Monitor the performance of the service team, providing feedback, training, and encouragement to maintain high service standards.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring that service stations are set up according to hotel standards and that all necessary equipment is in place.
Ensure that all service staff is well-prepared for service, including proper attire, grooming, and knowledge of menus and beverages.
Monitor the timing of food and beverage delivery to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
Assist in the efficient running of banquet and special event operations, ensuring seamless coordination with kitchen and other departments.
Quality Control & Service Standards:
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the F&B service areas.
Ensure all food and beverage items are served according to the set standards and presentation guidelines.
Regularly inspect the service areas and dining rooms for cleanliness, safety, and organization.
Monitor the quality of service delivered by staff, ensuring it meets the luxury standards of Gokulam Grand Hotel.
Inventory Management & Cost Control:
Assist in managing inventory levels, ensuring that supplies are stocked and equipment is maintained in working order.
Monitor the consumption of F&B items and report any discrepancies or issues to the F&B Manager.
Help in controlling wastage and ensuring cost-effective use of materials and resources.
Communication & Coordination:
Act as the point of communication between the kitchen, management, and service team to ensure smooth operations.
Attend regular meetings to discuss operational matters, guest feedback, and any challenges encountered during service.
Ensure that any special guest requirements (dietary preferences, allergies, etc.) are communicated clearly to the kitchen team.
Training & Development:
Provide ongoing training to F&B service staff on menu knowledge, wine pairing, customer service skills, and upselling techniques.
Encourage team members to participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Qualification:
Hotel Management Degree/Diploma from a recognized institution.
Experience:
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Food & Beverage service, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of F&B service standards and luxury dining etiquette.
Proficiency in handling POS systems and knowledge of restaurant operations.
Excellent knowledge of menu offerings, wines, cocktails, and other beverages.
Language Skills:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
Leadership Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide the team effectively.
