The Restaurant Captain oversees the smooth operation of the dining area, ensuring excellent guest service and coordination among the service team. The role involves supervising staff, managing guest satisfaction, maintaining service standards, and supporting the Restaurant Manager in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate restaurant service operations during shifts.
Ensure prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all guests.
Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
Conduct pre-service briefings to communicate menu updates and service standards.
Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams for accurate and timely order delivery.
Train, guide, and motivate service staff to maintain high performance.
Maintain cleanliness, setup, and organization of the dining area.
Promote and upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and revenue.
Monitor billing, cash handling, and ensure proper service procedures are followed.
Support management in achieving service and sales targets.
Requirements
Diploma or degree in Hotel or Restaurant Management preferred.
2-4 years of restaurant service experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or captain role.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent knowledge of food, beverage, and service techniques.
Ability to handle pressure and resolve guest issues effectively.
Professional grooming and the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
