Role Purpose

The Cashier cum Supervisor will be responsible for managing sales transactions, inventory tracking, and day-to-day canteen operations, while also ensuring smooth functioning of the kitchen and service staff. This is a frontline role that combines customer-facing duties with supervisory responsibilities, aimed at delivering efficient service to students, teachers, and faculty members.

Key ResponsibilitiesCashiering & Sales

- Operate the POS system to record sales and generate bills accurately.
- Handle cash, card, and digital payments with proper reconciliation at the end of the day.
- Maintain a record of daily sales, collections, and deposits as per company policy.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to students, teachers, and faculty members.

Inventory Management

- Record all inventory received for sale in the POS system.
- Track daily consumption and maintain minimum stock levels.
- Verify receipts, invoices, and supplier deliveries.
- Monitor wastage and report discrepancies to management.

Supervision & Team Management

- Oversee kitchen and service staff including cooks, helpers, and service boys.
- Allocate daily tasks and ensure timely preparation and service of food items.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, and adherence to hygiene standards among staff.
- Act as a point of contact between staff and management.

Customer Service & Compliance

- Ensure smooth handling of the customer queue during peak hours.
- Address basic customer queries and complaints on the spot.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in the canteen area.
- Comply with safety, food handling, and organizational policies.

Key Skills & Attributes Required

- Prior experience in cash handling, billing, or POS operations preferred.
- Strong numerical accuracy and ability to manage accounts.
- Good communication skills (Hindi/English, local language if required).
- Leadership qualities to supervise and motivate canteen staff.
- Ability to handle student/teacher-facing responsibilities with politeness and efficiency.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and customer-service oriented.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Accuracy of daily billing and cash reconciliation.
- Timely and correct entry of inventory into the system.
- Smooth functioning of kitchen and service operations.
- Positive customer (student/faculty) feedback.
- Compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.

Work Environment & Schedule

- Location: On-site at assigned school/college canteen.
- Working Hours: As per canteen timings (typically aligned with school/college schedule).
- Weekly Off: As per management decision.
