The Camp Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering therapeutic camp and recreational programs for patients. This role ensures that camp activities are safe, inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with medical guidelines, while providing meaningful psychosocial support to patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Planning & Coordination
Plan, organize, and implement health camp and medical outreach programs.
Develop activity schedules that support emotional well-being, socialization, and normalcy for patients.
Coordinate logistics including space, supplies, transportation, meals, and equipment.
2. Patient Safety & Medical Collaboration
Work closely with medical staff (nurses, physicians) to ensure all activities comply with medical restrictions and infection control policies.
Maintain participant medical information, emergency plans, and consent documentation.
Respond appropriately to medical or behavioral emergencies during camp activities.
3. Staff & Volunteer Management
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise camp counselors, volunteers, and interns.
Provide orientation on hospital policies, child safety, and patient confidentiality.
Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive camp culture.
4. Family & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a point of contact for patients and families regarding camp participation.
Communicate program details, expectations, and outcomes to families and hospital leadership.
Collaborate with community partners, donors, and external camp organizations as needed.
5. Administrative & Reporting Duties
Manage program budgets and track expenses.
Maintain accurate records, attendance, and program evaluations.
Prepare reports and contribute to program improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate in any discipline or a related field
Experience:
2+ years of experience in healthcare camps.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English and local language(s).
- Good listening and problem-solving abilities.
- Plan and coordinate Health camps and Medical Outreach Programs.
- Team player with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
- Ability to ensure smooth execution of Health camps from planning to completion.
