Help shape the future of mobility.
Imagine a world with zero vehicle accidents, zero vehicle emissions, and wireless vehicle connectivity all around us. Every day, we move closer to making that world a reality. Aptiv's passionate team of engineers and developers creates advanced safety systems, high-performance electrification solutions and data connectivity solutions so that automakers can bring advanced capabilities to more people around the globe. This is how we enable sustainable mobility and help to prevent accidents caused by human error.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Camera Engineer (QNX) to design, develop, and integrate embedded camera software components for next-generation automotive infotainment and digital cockpit systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with QNX-based platforms, working closely with middleware, perception, and hardware teams to deliver high-performance camera processing and integration solutions for production ECUs.
Job Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize camera-related system services and middleware on QNX platforms.
Integrate camera frameworks, HAL layers, and image signal processing (ISP) pipelines on automotive SoCs (e.g., Qualcomm SA8155, SA8295, SA6145).
Develop and maintain POSIX-compliant camera control modules, handling streaming, buffer management, and synchronization.
Implement and debug multi-threaded, real-time camera software components using QNX APIs and resource managers.
Collaborate with BSP, driver, and perception teams for seamless camera sensor and ISP bring-up.
Configure and optimize QNX system services for low-latency camera capture and efficient data flow.
Support integration of camera data into perception, ADAS, and display pipelines.
Analyze and enhance system performance, boot time, and memory usage specific to camera subsystems.
Debug kernel and user-space issues using QNX tools such as pidin, qconn, and System Profiler.
Collaborate with Android/Linux coexisting systems for cross-domain camera communication.
Participate in code reviews, system validation, and ensure compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and OEM-specific standards.
Skills Needed:
4-10 years of embedded software development, with a focus on camera systems or QNX-based automotive platforms.
Strong understanding of QNX Neutrino RTOS, process model, IPC mechanisms, and memory management.
Proficiency in C/C++, multi-threading, and real-time data handling.
Experience developing system daemons, camera HALs, or middleware services on QNX.
Hands-on experience with Momentics IDE, QNX SDKs, and debugging tools.
Exposure to Qualcomm automotive SoCs (SA8155/SA8295/SA6145) or similar chipsets.
Familiarity with camera sensors, ISPs, and image data streaming (e.g., GMSL, MIPI-CSI).
Knowledge of communication frameworks such as SOME/IP, D-Bus, and CAN.
Understanding of safety-critical software and ISO 26262 concepts preferred.
Experience with build systems (Make, CMake, Yocto) and version control (Git).
Bonus: Experience with Android-QNX coexistence or virtualized camera subsystems.
