Key Responsibilities
Managerial Responsibilities
Implement and support laboratory policies, objectives, and procedures
Oversee operational plans and ensure smooth execution of laboratory activities
Ensure impartiality by avoiding conflicts of interest in calibration activities
Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of calibration data and records
Coordinate with management on operational planning and improvements
Technical Responsibilities
Manage daily laboratory operations and technical activities
Review and verify calibration reports prior to approval
Ensure calibration activities comply with applicable standards and customer requirements
Supervise inspection, verification, and maintenance of reference standards and master equipment
Ensure laboratory instruments and equipment are fit for use and properly maintained
Implement calibration and maintenance programs across laboratory and related departments
Monitor safety compliance and enforce laboratory safety regulations
Maintain accurate calibration records, worksheets, and documentation
Receive, inspect, log, and track incoming calibration items
Assign work to technicians according to daily calibration programs
Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to technicians
Support adoption of new calibration technologies and methods
Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with Calibration Engineers on results, approvals, and technical matters
Liaise with HR regarding manpower planning and training needs
Communicate with clients regarding calibration status and site activities
Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers for equipment, calibration, and training
Qualifications
Education:
Diploma in Engineering Physics or a related scientific or technical field
Experience:
4-6 years of experience in calibration and instrumentation engineering
Required Knowledge & Skills
Calibration standards, work instructions, and test methods
Metrology principles and SI units
Measurement uncertainty and data analysis
Operation and maintenance of measurement instruments
Laboratory and field calibration techniques
Occupational health and safety practices
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and calibration software
