We are looking for a skilled Cafeteria Chef to join our team. This role involves preparing bulk quantities of snacks, meals, and other food items in a cafeteria setting. The ideal candidate should be able to handle high-volume food preparation, follow recipes, ensure food safety, and deliver quality meals in a timely manner. The role requires someone with practical culinary skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook bulk quantities of snacks, meals, and food items according to established recipes and menus.
Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Assist in the planning and preparation of weekly or daily food production schedules.
Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotated according to food safety guidelines.
Prepare ingredients in advance and ensure readiness for busy periods.
Monitor food supplies and alert the cafeteria manager about inventory levels.
Assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, kitchen equipment, and tools.
Follow health and safety guidelines related to food handling, preparation, and storage.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or similar roles (experience in bulk cooking preferred).
Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food safety standards.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow recipes and adapt to new menu items.
Strong communication skills and a team player attitude.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools (e.g., industrial stoves, ovens, mixers).
Flexibility to work during peak hours or weekends, as needed.
