Job Description

Job Summary:

The Drafting Engineer is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs from engineers and architects. The role involves working closely with the engineering team to convert concepts into precise drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and functionality throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Role Tasks:

Collaborate with engineers and architects to gather design specifications and requirements.

Create and modify 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).

Convert rough sketches and ideas into detailed, accurate technical plans.

Ensure drawings comply with technical standards, codes, and project requirements.

Review and revise drawings as per feedback from engineering teams and clients.

Maintain organized filing and version control of all drawings and documents.

Assist in identifying potential design issues and suggest improvements.

Skills Required:

Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.

Good understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.

Basic knowledge of construction and manufacturing processes.

Effective communication skills to coordinate with engineers and project teams.

Ability to manage multiple drawing projects and meet deadlines.

Knowledge Required:

Familiarity with drafting principles, standards, and technical documentation.

Understanding of materials, construction techniques, and structural concepts (basic level).

Awareness of industry regulations and quality standards.

Exposure to 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a plus.
