Job Description

Mechanical Engineer with 1-3 years of experience in steel structural projects who also works with CAD and Tekla typically has the following enhanced roles and responsibilities:

Creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings of mechanical components and steel structural elements using AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Using Tekla Structures software for advanced 3D modeling, detailing, and fabrication drawings of steel structures, ensuring high accuracy in structural connections and components. Preparing and managing Bill of Materials (BOM) directly from CAD and Tekla models, including quantities of steel sections, bolts, plates, and other materials. Collaborating closely with structural engineers, fabricators, and project teams to validate design details and resolve any clashes or discrepancies in models. Coordinating in the production of erection drawings and reports generated from Tekla to support onsite construction and assembly. Assisting in project documentation, revisions, and supplier coordination based on precise CAD and Tekla deliverables. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications through detailed modeling and verification. Utilizing Tekla's BIM capabilities for clash detection, scheduling, and efficient project management. Supporting procurement and fabrication by providing accurate material take-offs and structural details via the CAD and Tekla outputs.
