Finance & Risk Shared Services (FRSS) is a part of Citi Shared Services (CSS), and is responsible for delivering financial, regulatory and risk reporting solutions to all of Citi businesses and regions. FRSS is a key business partner to Citi Finance as well as the risk organization, performing functions including financial systems operations, financial and regulatory reporting, integrated close, treasury reporting, global charge out and tax transfer pricing documentation. The below role is under Integrated Close - Global Accounting team under Compensation Accounting Team for Mexico. Role Outline/Job Summary Team manager in charge of the team handling accounting for compensation and benefit expenses. Responsible for Compensation accruals of all portfolios, month on month variance analysis of Comp lines, charge back and settlement and statutory reporting. Also, will assist the team lead as the main point of contact tothe Regional Controllers/ Country Controllers for the Compensation portfolio team and will ensure the active participation in the global / regional initiative and in projects addressed to optimize the process related with its activities under country responsibility. Role and Responsibilities - Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Acts as a checker role for all Accounting processes managed by Compensation team at FRSS Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results to the senior management and key stakeholders Establish and maintain appropriate documentation/controls to ensure the integrity of financial, regulatory and management information. Ensures and implement that control process embedded in the process are in-placed and effectively observed for by the team for the various Compensation portfolios and that they are as per the defined procedures (RIF, VIC, Pension, Equity compensation and annual bonus) Ensures and implement processes are aligned with the global standards Approve Adjustments and ensure effective reconciliation between RIF, Pension, Equity compensation and annual bonus with Pearl Review MoM variance analysis on compensation lines insight to segment controllers Ensuring the Risk and Control framework in Citi is fully implemented for this process Ensures that immediate supervisor is informed of issues and risks (potential or inherent) involving the process/tasks assigned to him/her with the proposed action plan for the resolution Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures where necessary Ensure compliance for internal and external audits for the compensation related items. Accountable for timely management and ownership of Monthly, Quarterly and Annual closing activities Attend meeting with Regional and Global teams and conducting monthly review call with stakeholders Help and contribute to continuous process improvement drives through Bright Ideas keeping in mind the Lean initiatives in-place Key Deliverables: End to End responsibilities for Accounting and reporting of Compensation lines Stakeholder management and escalation of issues Reviews general ledger/sub ledgers on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting Apply subject matter expertise to identify, develop, and implement new techniques for process improvement Qualifications - Internal Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance with experience in similar Accounting/Finance related position Post Graduate or certifications a plus CA / MBA / CPA preferred Experience: 5 + years' experience in General Ledger Accounting Proved experience in accounting lead roles or equivalent experience in similar profiles in Compensation accounting from Major Financial Institution. Communication skills: will be interacting with staff at a variety of levels, including very senior audiences, on a variety of internally driven and function driven deliverable. The ability to articulate 'big picture' and present to senior management is essential.
