Qualifications
Education:
BE in Mechanical, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering
Experience:
5-10 years in automotive sourcing and New Product Development, with emphasis on stainless steel and machining components
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand NPD requirements
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for new components and technologies
Manage RFQs, cost negotiations, and supplier selection for NPD parts
Ensure timely procurement of prototypes, samples, and initial production batches
Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and commercial issues
Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reports for NPD projects
Support localization and cost-reduction initiatives during early design stages
Ensure alignment with APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949 standards
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of automotive components, supplier base, and manufacturing processes
Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and quality systems
Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and MS Office tools
Preferred Attributes
Experience with Tier-1 or OEM automotive suppliers
Exposure to global sourcing and cost benchmarking
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
