We are looking for a strategic and execution-driven
Buyer - Manager
to lead sourcing, vendor negotiations, and product lifecycle management for our
Private Label
business. The role is critical in identifying profitable product opportunities, ensuring cost efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and driving sustainable growth across online marketplaces (primarily Amazon).
Key Responsibilities
Product & Category Management
Own end-to-end product sourcing for assigned private label categories
Identify new product opportunities through market research, competitor analysis, and trend tracking
Finalize product specifications, packaging, and branding in collaboration with Design & Marketing teams
Manage product lifecycle from ideation to launch and scale
Vendor Sourcing & Negotiation
Identify, onboard, and manage domestic/international manufacturers
Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, payment terms, and exclusivity
Ensure vendor compliance with quality, ethical, and regulatory standards
Build long-term strategic supplier relationships
Costing & Profitability
Prepare detailed cost sheets including landed cost, logistics, duties, and margins
Ensure category profitability aligns with business targets
Continuously optimize costs without compromising quality
Quality & Compliance
Define quality benchmarks and testing protocols
Coordinate inspections, audits, and certifications where required
Resolve quality issues, claims, and non-compliance escalations
Supply Planning & Inventory Coordination
Forecast demand in coordination with Sales, MIS, and Operations teams
Ensure optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking
Work closely with FBA / Warehousing teams on replenishment planning
Marketplace Collaboration
Partner with Amazon Account Management, Listings, and Marketing teams for successful launches
Support promotions, seasonal planning, and new SKU rollouts
Track product performance and take corrective actions where required
Required Skills & Qualifications
6-8 years of experience in
Buying / Sourcing / Category Management
, preferably in
Private Label or E-commerce
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Solid understanding of
Amazon FBA, pricing, and private label economics
Ability to analyze data and make cost-driven decisions
Experience working with cross-functional teams (Design, Ops, Finance, Marketing)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience sourcing from India/China/SEA markets
Exposure to compliance, testing, and certifications relevant to product categories
MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Marketing (preferred)
