Job description - Buyer/RFQ Specialist is needed to perform supplier identification analysis and to create/manage quote packages to selected suppliers, collecting key data points - price, lead time, and country of origin. This position will require effective communication skills working with suppliers, Applied engineering, other buyers, and other internal business groups. Tools/Systems new hire will need to master: Applied Materials SAP ERP system, Microsoft Office applications, Ariba Quoting and Contracting Tool, SCV (Supplier Collaboration Vault), various SharePoint applications, and other applications, as necessary. Tasks and deliverables will include the following: Send requests for quotes (RFQs) to approved vendor list (AVL) suppliers Analyze RFQ data and make supplier selections based on cost, part lead time, quality and other factors Engage in and/or support cost savings RFQ projects Interface with internal customers to provide status Resolve part, supplier, and quoting issues, as needed Reporting, metrics, and data maintenance Applied Materials is committed to diversity in its workforce including Equal Employment Opportunity for Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.
