Job summary
The Business Research Analyst - I will be responsible for continuous improvement projects across the RBS teams leading to each of its delivery levers. The long-term goal of the Business Research Analyst Research Analyst - II role is to create and write the deterministic rules that will help identify Defects in the Private Brands catalog. Secondary goals are to improve the overall customer experience and to enhance GMS/ FCF. This will require collaboration with local and global teams, which have process and technical expertise. Therefore, Business Research Analyst - I should be a self-starter who is passionate about discovering and solving complicated problems, learning complex systems, working with numbers, and organizing and communicating data and reports. Business Research Analyst - II should works across team(s) and Ops organization at country, regional and/or cross regional level to drive improvements and enablers to implement solutions for customer, cost savings in process workflow, systems configuration and performance metrics. Leads projects and opportunities across the operations that are business critical, and may be global in nature. Business Research Analyst - II should perform big data analysis to identify the defects patterns/process gaps and come up with long term solutions to eliminate the defects/issues. Business Research Analyst - I should Writes clear and detailed functional specifications based on business requirements as well as writes and reviews business cases.

Key job responsibilities

  • Leads medium to large complex use cases, cross-functional strategic projects and opportunities.
  • Prioritizes projects and feature sets as per stakeholders' expectations for Amazon's marketplaces, structures and develops implementation plans and works with leaders to pilot and test new solutions and roll-out scalable solutions
  • Writes clear and detailed functional specifications based on dynamic business requirements
  • Possesses relevant understanding and experience on operational processes/workflow. Ability to dive deep into the operational issues to correct the underperforming parts.
  • Experience of developing experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes using strong baselines and demonstrate the ability to accurately determine cause and effect relationships.
  • Has the ability to ask the right questions, analyze data logically, draws conclusion by making appropriate assumptions and form hypothesis
  • Understanding of relevant statistical measures such as descriptive, parametric inferential methods, nonparametric inferential methods, and predictive methods to analyze and test the hypothesis formed
  • Find the scalable solution for a business problem by executing pilots and build Deterministic rules using Python
  • Experience applying various machine learning techniques and have an understanding of the key parameters that affect their performance.
  • Open-minded and eager to learn new opportunities, ability to deal with high level of ambiguity
  • Work effectively & independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with tight deadlines
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with multiple teams both internal and external.
About the team
The RBS group in Chennai is an integral part of Amazon online product lifecycle and buying operations. The team is designed to ensure Amazon remains competitive in the online retail space with the best price, wide selection and good product information. The team's primary role is to create and enhance retail selection on the worldwide Amazon online catalog. The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on customer buying decisions and online user experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1+ years of experience in financial/business analysis
  • Experience with SQL or ETL
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
  • Strong analytical skills to explore, analyze and manipulate data to draw conclusion by making appropriate assumptions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical problems as simple plain stories to build and implement technical solutions
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Ability to develop various ML models to build scalable solutions for complex business problems
  • Proficiency in SQL and Advanced Excel (Array and Statistical formulas) and able to produce data.
  • Understanding of visualization tools such as Tableau, QuickSight or Power BI
  • Knowledge of managing Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) jobs
  • Experience in the framework of Pytorch or TensorFlow
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in e-commerce industry into process and product improvement
  • Proficiency in Python and R Programming
  • Prior experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
  • Ability to automate reporting generating processes using tools and programing techniques such as SQL/ SAS/ DW concepts & advanced Excel.
  • Familiar with Neural Networks, ability to work on existing NLP algorithms and an understanding of CNN
  • Familiar with AWS platforms (Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, Redshift, RDS, CloudWatch and Sage maker)
