Lead the branch in achieving business loan sales targets and revenue goals.
Develop strategies to expand the SME and business loan portfolio.
Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and partnerships.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key business clients.
2. Loan Portfolio Management
Oversee the entire business loan cycle--from sourcing to approval and disbursement.
Ensure healthy portfolio growth with low delinquency and optimal asset quality.
Monitor loan performance, delinquency, and early warning indicators.
Support restructuring or remedial actions where necessary.
3. Credit & Risk Compliance
Ensure all loan applications meet internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with the Credit Manager to ensure quality underwriting and documentation.
Conduct periodic reviews of high-value accounts and risky exposure.
Ensure compliance with audit, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
4. Team Management & Development
Lead, mentor, and motivate branch staff including Relationship Officers and Credit Officers.
Set performance goals, conduct appraisals, and provide coaching and training.
Foster a strong sales culture while ensuring disciplined credit practices.
Promote teamwork, customer focus, and operational excellence.
5. Operational & Customer Service Excellence
Oversee branch operations to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and support smooth service delivery.
Maintain proper documentation, reporting, and operational compliance.
Ensure branch facilities, resources, and systems are optimized for performance.
6. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with senior management, credit, legal, and operations teams to support branch activities.
Represent the branch in regional meetings, performance reviews, and business planning sessions.
Develop partnerships with local business communities and industry associations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics, or related field.
Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., Banking, Credit, Management) are a plus.
Experience
5-7+ years of experience
in business banking, SME lending, or financial services.
At least
2-3 years in a leadership or branch management role
