Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Planning
Define and drive the next 3-5year business strategy: market expansion (India + global Indian diaspora), product portfolio growth, channel mix (online, offline).
Set annual budgets, revenue and profitability targets in line with company vision.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer preferences in the spiritual/ritual FMCG category to identify new opportunities.
2. Sales & Commercial Management
Own P&L for the business: revenue growth, margin management, cost control.
Lead all sales channels: D2C, E-commerce, Quick Commerce, Modern Trade and Institutional.
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches, festivals & seasonal campaigns.
Build and maintain high-value partnerships (e.g., mass retail chains, export partners, institutional buyers).
Set and monitor sales KPIs, pipeline, conversion, customer acquisition and retention metrics.
3. Marketing & Brand Building
Ensure a strong brand positioning consistent with the company's mission (authenticity, Vedic origins, ritual correctness).
Approve and oversee marketing campaigns- Digital (social media, influencer, experiential) and Offline (RWA & Market Activations) especially tied to festivals and spiritual occasions.
Work with product teams on packaging, design, differentiation in shelf and online presence.
Monitor brand equity, customer feedback, and refine brand strategy accordingly.
4. Product & Operations Oversight
Collaborate with Product/Development teams to launch new SKUs (kits, accessories, ritual-essentials) and expand variants.
Ensure manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, quality assurance are aligned to business growth.
Drive operational efficiencies: cost optimisation, lead-time reduction, process improvements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, packaging, labelling standards relevant to FMCG / ritual products.
5. Team Leadership & Culture
Build and lead a high-performance team across functions (sales, marketing, operations, finance).
Mentor and develop successors and functional heads; ensure clear role-definitions, KPIs, accountability.
6. Stakeholder Management & Reporting
Provide regular reports to CEO/Board on business performance, budget vs actuals, risks & mitigation.
Represent the company at industry forums, trade exhibitions, business networking events.
Qualifications & Experience:
MBA or equivalent in Business/Marketing preferred.
10-15+ years of relevant experience, with at least
5 years in a senior leadership/Business Head role
in FMCG, retail, D2C environment.
Proven track record of scaling / P&L ownership / multi?channel sales and marketing.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and execution orientation.
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of manufacturing/operations, supply chain in FMCG is a plus.
Experience in building brands, ideally in niche categories or Start-up/scale-up environment.
