Job Description

A Business Head in the coal mining industry is a strategic leader responsible for managing daily operations, driving profitability, and ensuring compliance with all mining regulations. This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans for mine development, overseeing financial performance, fostering a high-performing team, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. A Business Head needs a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, significant experience in the mining sector, strong leadership and financial acumen, and a deep understanding of the coal industry's regulatory framework.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Operations:

Develop and execute long-term strategies for mine development and expansion, oversee daily mining operations, and manage production targets.

Financial Management:

Develop and manage budgets, control costs, and monitor financial performance to maximize profitability.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards within the coal mining sector.

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop the mining team to foster a culture of high performance, good communication, and safety.

Stakeholder Management:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, contractors, and community representatives.

Innovation & Efficiency:

Stay informed of industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

Industry Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of the coal sector, including government policies, regulatory frameworks, and best practices.

Leadership Skills:

Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.

Business Acumen:

Excellent financial acumen, strategic planning abilities, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Communication:

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
