Business Development Specialist - Applications
Exciting opportunity for a Business Development Specialist - Applications to join our dynamic team at FOSS India.
Full-time position based at FOSS India Headquarters in Pune, Maharashtra, India, with travel across India, Bangladesh, Nepal & Sri Lanka (30-40%).
The job, department & daily task
Join our team as a Business Development Specialist - Applications and play a key role in bridging the gap between customer needs and FOSS's advanced analytical technologies. You will support the sales team by leading application-based discussions, conducting sample analysis, developing calibrations, and positioning our NIR, Mycotoxin, and other solutions to solve real-world industry challenges.
You will contribute to revenue growth by supporting technical evaluations, conducting data interpretation, and influencing buying decisions. You'll work closely with the Managing Director, collaborate with regional sales managers, and coordinate with global application teams to drive customer success.

What will make you fit in well
We imagine that you have:

• 2-5 years of experience in food, feed, distillery, or analytical instrumentation industries
• A degree in Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields
• Exposure to NIR technology, spectroscopy, or calibration development (or a strong willingness to learn)
• A deep understanding of food/feed matrices and relevant quality parameters
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - fluent in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to interpret analytical data and present clear technical recommendations
• Proficiency in MS Office - especially Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and reporting
• A customer-centric mindset with analytical thinking and a problem-solving attitude
• Willingness to travel up to 30-40% across India, Bangladesh, Nepal & Sri Lanka
