Role Summary:The Senior Business Development Executive is a strategic, experienced professional responsible for generating and qualifying high-value opportunities within Government ministries, departments, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). This role requires deep knowledge of public sector procurement, tender lifecycles, and high-level stakeholder engagement to ensure compliance and drive long-term contracts.Key Responsibilities:- Public Sector Strategic Mapping: Identify, research, and prioritize strategic Government and PSU accounts. Develop comprehensive outreach plans focusing on long-term relationships with bureaucrats, IT heads, and key decision-makers.- Tender & RFP Monitoring: Actively track and monitor relevant Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Tenders, and specific opportunities published on platforms like the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and other state/central government portals.- Advanced Compliance Qualification: Conduct detailed qualification of opportunities, assessing alignment with technical requirements, eligibility criteria, budget allocation, and mandatory compliance standards unique to the public sector.- Bid Coordination: Serve as the critical liaison between the external client and the internal Bid Management, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure all documentation required for tender submissions is gathered, accurate, and submitted on time.- Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain expert knowledge of current Government IT policies, procurement guidelines, and regulatory frameworks to position company solutions effectively and manage risk.- Pipeline Forecasting & Reporting: Consistently meet or exceed targets for qualified opportunities. Provide accurate and detailed pipeline forecasts based on the public sector's longer, cyclical procurement timelines.Qualifications:Required:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related technical field.- 3-5+ years of demonstrable experience specifically in IT sales, business development, or account management focused on Government or PSU clients.- Proven track record of successfully identifying, qualifying, and initiating the sales cycle for opportunities resulting from RFPs or tenders.- Strong working knowledge of public sector procurement portals (e.g., GeM, e-Tender platforms) and associated compliance requirements.- Exceptional written skills, particularly for contributing to initial tender response documents.Preferred:- Experience with a technical or complex IT solution (e.g., Cloud, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Software).- Existing network and relationships within relevant Central or State Government IT departments.- Demonstrated experience coaching others through complex, multi-stage sales cycles.
