Role summary
A Business Development Officer (BDO) in the Education sector is focused on expanding an educational institution or company's reach, attracting students, and forging strategic partnerships to achieve growth objectives.
Key responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis: Identifying trends and opportunities within the education sector (e.g., student demographics, competitor landscape, emerging educational needs).
Lead Generation & Prospecting: Developing strategies and initiatives to generate leads, such as conducting seminars at schools/colleges, participating in educational expos, and utilizing online platforms and networking events.
Relationship Building: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including school administrators, counselors, students, parents, and industry professionals.
Presentations & Proposals: Preparing and delivering persuasive presentations and proposals showcasing educational programs, services, or products to potential clients and partners.
Client Engagement & Support: Counseling students on educational opportunities, providing information about programs and services, and ensuring student satisfaction.
Strategic Planning: Collaborating with management to develop and implement strategies for expanding into new markets, launching new programs, or forming partnerships.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring: Tracking and reporting on sales and marketing activities, student enrollment numbers, and overall business development performance.
Collaboration: Working with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and coordinating with other departments (e.g., admissions, academics) to ensure seamless student support.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or educational counseling, preferably within the education sector.
