Job Summary
We are seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager with strong experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, and supply chain solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in achieving sales targets, developing new business, managing key accounts, and driving revenue growth in a competitive logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Sales
Develop and execute strategies to acquire new clients and expand business across freight forwarding, transportation, customs clearance, and contract logistics.
Identify market trends, competitor activities, and business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
Conduct market research and mapping to understand customer potential and industry developments.
Achieve and consistently exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
Manage rate negotiations with liners, airlines, clearing agents, and logistics partners.
Client Relationship Management
Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with key clients.
Handle customer queries and offer effective solutions to improve customer satisfaction.
Ensure timely collection of payments as per company credit policy.
Conduct regular meetings, follow-ups, and calls with clients to address pre- and post-shipment issues.
Operational Coordination
Collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery and excellent customer experience.
Support operational teams in preparing SOPs and improving service quality.
Ensure compliance with local and destination port regulations for logistics operations.
Strategic Planning and Reporting
Contribute to the company's business plan, sales strategies, and performance improvement initiatives.
Maintain and expand a structured client database across various segments and geographies.
Prepare and present periodic sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence updates.
Requirements
Education
Any degree
Experience
Minimum 2-15 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain sales
Experience with companies such as Emirates Logistics, Flyjac Logistics, Damco, or similar is an advantage
Strong understanding of freight operations, transportation, customs clearance, and supply chain solutions
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to multi-task and manage priorities under pressure
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering value
