The Opportunity:
As our Business Development Manager, you will be the driving force behind our growth in the Chennai and South Indian market. You will be responsible for building a robust pipeline of prospective clients, forging strong relationships with premium vendors, and establishing Weddings by Artique as the leading name for luxury wedding planning. This role is central to our strategy, offering you the chance to directly impact our success and build a rewarding career.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition & Sales:
Manage the entire client journey from initial inquiry to closing. Conduct meetings (in-person and virtual), understand client aspirations, and present tailored proposals that showcase our value proposition.
Lead Generation:
Proactively generate leads through strategic networking, social media engagement (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), referrals, and partnerships with venues and other wedding vendors.
Vendor & Venue Relationships:
Build and nurture a strong network with key players in the Chennai/Tamil Nadu wedding industry, including luxury hotels, heritage venues, caterers, decorators, and photographers.
Market Expertise:
Maintain a deep understanding of the local Chennai and South Indian wedding market, including trends, competitor activities, and pricing. Use this knowledge to inform strategy.
Represent the Brand:
Act as a brand ambassador for Weddings by Artique at wedding expos, open days at venues, and other industry events.
CRM Management:
Utilize CRM tools to diligently track all leads, client interactions, and follow-ups, ensuring a smooth sales process.
Who You Are (Qualifications & Experience):
A resident of Chennai or willing to relocate, with an in-depth understanding of the local culture and wedding landscape.
5-6 years of proven experience
in a
field sales, business development, or key account management role
. Experience in the
wedding, hospitality, event management, or luxury retail sector is highly preferred.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
in
English and Tamil
. You are persuasive, confident, and able to build rapport with high-net-worth clients.
A
results-driven self-starter
with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Strong networker
with existing connections in the Chennai wedding/event industry is a significant advantage.
Graduate degree in any field. A degree in Marketing, Business, or Hospitality is a plus.
Tech-savvy, with proficiency in CRM software, social media, and MS Office/Google Workspace.
