Polycrafts Tech invites applications for an internship focused on identifying business opportunities for our innovative precision-manufactured products in both domestic and international markets. The intern will support our product strategy and go-to-market planning by conducting deep research on customer segments, market potential, competitor landscape, pricing, and unique value propositions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys research, analysis, and contributing to strategic business decisions.
Duties and responsibilities / Key Result Areas:
1. Product Market Research & Validation
? Study potential applications and market demand for our proprietary precision products.
? Map industrial domains such as aerospace, defence, robotics, automotive, and medical
devices where such components are critical.
? Identify relevant decision-makers, procurement models, and market trends.
2. Competitor & Patent Infringement Analysis
? Identify and profile key competitors, including their technical offerings, pricing, distribution models, and customer base.
? Assist in conducting patent and design checks to highlight any potential infringement risks or overlaps.
? Support the identification of unique selling propositions (USPs) for our products compared to global and local alternatives.
3. Pricing & Cost Benchmarking
? Conduct a comprehensive pricing study of competing products across different geographies and industries.
? Identify factors affecting pricing--quality, certifications, raw materials, or service models--and help define a competitive pricing structure.
4. Market Size Estimation & Demand Drivers
? Estimate TAM (Total Addressable Market), SAM (Serviceable Available Market), and SOM
(Serviceable Obtainable Market) for the target products.
? Analyse market drivers such as government initiatives, defence budgets, regulatory shifts,
supply chain trends, and import-export data.
? Map key manufacturing and end-use hubs across India, Europe, the US, and Asia.
5. Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy Development
? Assist in formulating an initial GTM strategy for high-potential markets and customers.
? Identify possible sales/distribution partners, OEM integrators or trade platforms.
? Recommend outreach activities like trade shows, digital platforms or targeted campaigns
based on research insights.
6. Reporting & Strategic Input
? Create well-structured research summaries, strategy presentations and decision-support
reports.
? Maintain internal databases of leads, industry intelligence and competitor activities.
? Participate in internal reviews and present findings to the senior management team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Pursuing B.E. / B. Tech or MBA in relevant field (Mechanical / Production / Marketing / IB)
? Strong analytical and market research skills
? Good knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
? Basic understanding of precision manufacturing or engineering products
? Clear written and verbal communication
? Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Preferred Attributes:
? Exposure to TAM/SAM/SOM market sizing models
? Familiarity with patent search tools and competitor analysis
? Knowledge of B2B platforms (IndiaMART, ThomasNet, TradeIndia, etc.)
? Prior internship or project in business strategy or market research
? Interest in product positioning and go-to-market strategy
Working conditions :
Will be based out of Pune office location but should be prepared for travel to networking and marketing events, Supplier and Customer locations pan India as and when required.
