Role Overview:



The

Business Development Engineer

role is a launchpad for candidates passionate about engineering and business development. This role involves identifying target industries, engaging with prospective clients, delivering

high-value product demonstrations

, and nurturing leads throughout the sales cycle.

The ideal candidate will not only be technically sound but also an excellent communicator, capable of articulating how SOLIDWORKS solutions / BRICSCAD can solve real-world problems for design, engineering, and manufacturing organizations.

Key Responsibilities:



Market Intelligence & Prospecting



Conduct

in-depth market research

to identify industries and companies that can benefit from SOLIDWORKS / BRICSCAD. Develop segmentation strategies based on geography, industry verticals, and product relevance. Identify

key decision-makers

(Design Heads, CTOs, Product Managers, etc.) using online tools, directories, and LinkedIn.

Lead Generation & Outreach



Initiate

cold calls, email campaigns

, and social selling to generate interest in SOLIDWORKS offerings. Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified leads and regularly update the CRM/database. Build a

database of prospects

with full contact details, conversation notes, and demo status.

High-Level Product Demonstrations



Prepare and deliver

customized, high-level product demos

of SOLIDWORKS solutions, tailored to specific business needs. Clearly articulate the business value, ROI, and technical advantages of SOLIDWORKS during presentations. Handle Q&A sessions post-demo and coordinate with technical teams for deeper consultations if needed.

Sales Process Support



Qualify leads based on budget, authority, need, and timeline (BANT framework).

Prepare and deliver proposals

, commercial quotes, and follow-up documentation. Work closely with the senior sales team to push leads through the funnel to closure. Ensure

post-demo follow-ups

to gather feedback, address objections, and drive conversions.

Reporting & Coordination



Maintain updated records of all interactions, demo outcomes, and sales stages in CRM tools. Provide weekly/monthly reports on lead pipeline, demo schedules, and proposal submissions. Collaborate with marketing for campaign planning and with presales/technical teams for solution mapping.

Education & Eligibility:



M.E. / M. Tech (Mechanical / Production / CAD-CAM / Design or equivalent) MBA (Sales, Marketing, or Business Analytics preferred) Final-year students or recent graduates eligible for full-time employment Strong interest in CAD/CAM industry and B2B software sales Previous exposure to SOLIDWORKS or other 3D CAD tools is an added advantage
