Key Responsibilities
? Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within the electronics / embedded systems / components / industrial automation domain.
? Develop and execute a territory or segment strategy (geographical region, customer verticals, product lines) to meet/exceed sales revenue and growth targets.
? Engage with engineering, procurement, and senior management of prospective customers to understand their technical requirements, propose solutions, and negotiate deals.
? Work closely with internal teams (product engineering, applications, support, marketing) to present tailored solutions, demos or POCs, and drive customer onboarding. ? Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline: lead generation, qualification, proposal preparation, negotiation and closure.
? Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, customer needs, and technology developments to refine offerings and maintain competitive advantage. ? Prepare and present regular sales/ business reviews, forecasts, reports, and MIS (monthly, quarterly). ? Manage existing customer relationships to ensure repeat business, upsell, cross-sell and customer satisfaction.
? Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, customer meetings and networking forums.
? Travel as required (within Chennai/Tamil Nadu region and other parts of India) for customer visits, field sales, and partner meetings. Required Skills & Experience ? Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electronics/ECE/EEE/Mechatronics or similar.
? Minimum ~5 years of business development / sales experience in the electronics, embedded systems, components, industrial automation or related technical domain. (For example, a similar JD for 8-12 years in industrial automation was published by FANUC India. fanucindia.com
? Strong technical understanding of electronics products/solutions, ability to communicate technical value to non-technical decision-makers.
? Excellent communication (verbal & written), presentation and negotiation skills.
? Proven track record of achieving/new business revenue targets, preferably in B2B environment. ? Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), CRM tools, and comfortable preparing business reports / forecasts.
? Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, channel networks.
? Self-driven, goal-oriented, with strong business acumen and strategic mindset.
? Willingness to travel and meet clients onsite, if needed.
? (Preferred) Experience in working with OEMs, distributors, channel partners, or in industrial / electronics product sales. Desirable / Nice to Have ? Master's degree (MBA - Sales/Marketing) or equivalent.
? Experience in embedded systems, industrial automation, or electronics manufacturing.
? Understanding of global electronics markets / export business.
? Knowledge of ERP / CRM systems.
? Experience in participating in trade fairs, exhibitions, or technical webinars.
