1. Position Overview



The Business Development Associate will play a pivotal role in driving the organization's client acquisition strategy, strengthening market presence, and contributing to revenue growth. This role demands a highly motivated, result-oriented professional with strong communication capabilities, analytical thinking, and the ability to build long-term client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset, be proactive in identifying new business opportunities, and demonstrate a structured and disciplined approach toward achieving sales objectives.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Lead Generation & Prospecting



Identify and research potential clients across targeted industries and segments. Generate qualified leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, referrals, social media platforms, company databases, and industry events. Maintain and update the CRM system with accurate lead information and progress status.

B. Client Engagement & Relationship Management



Establish initial communication with prospective clients to understand their requirements, challenges, and business goals. Conduct detailed product/service presentations to clients, effectively conveying value propositions and competitive advantages. Build and maintain strong, long-term business relationships that support continuous pipeline development.

C. Sales Conversion & Revenue Contribution



Develop tailored proposals, quotations, and business pitches in alignment with client needs and organizational offerings. Collaborate with internal teams--operations, marketing, technical, and leadership--to create customized solutions when required. Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets through disciplined follow-ups, negotiation strategies, and timely closures. Oversee smooth handover of converted clients to the account management or operations team.

D. Market Intelligence & Strategic Inputs



Conduct market research to evaluate industry trends, competitor strategies, pricing movements, and emerging business opportunities. Provide management with data-driven insights and suggestions that support decision-making and refinement of sales strategies. Participate in business development planning sessions and contribute to developing new go-to-market initiatives.

E. Reporting & Documentation



Prepare and maintain comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports. Track lead-to-conversion metrics, forecast revenues, and highlight potential risks or opportunities. Ensure strict adherence to internal documentation, compliance procedures, and organizational guidelines.

3. Required Skills & CompetenciesA. Core Skills



Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent negotiation and interpersonal abilities. High proficiency in lead research, prospecting, and pipeline management. Ability to understand client needs and align them with business offerings.

B. Technical & Analytical Skills



Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Zoho, HubSpot, Salesforce) is an added advantage. Basic understanding of data interpretation and sales analytics. Competence in preparing proposals, presentations, and business communication materials.

C. Behavioral Competencies



High level of professionalism, discipline, and accountability. Results-driven mindset with a strong sense of initiative. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Collaborative attitude with the ability to function effectively both independently and as part of a team.

4. Educational & Experience Requirements



Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Commerce, or related disciplines. 0-3 years of experience in business development, sales, inside sales, client acquisition, or a related commercial function. Freshers with exceptional communication skills and a strong desire to build a career in business development may also be considered.
