Role Overview



We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial

Business Development Manager

to drive growth across retail, modern trade, institutional, and online channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of FMCG sales, distribution strategy, and brand partnerships, and will be instrumental in expanding The Betel Leaf Co.'s footprint across India and beyond.

Key Responsibilities



Identify and develop new business opportunities across B2B, B2C, and institutional channels. Build and manage distributor and retail partner networks in key markets. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and trade terms with partners and modern trade outlets. Collaborate with marketing and operations to plan product launches, activations, and promotions. Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform business strategy. Drive sales targets and ensure profitability across assigned regions or channels. Manage relationships with key accounts, ensuring consistent service and brand visibility. Work closely with the supply chain team to optimize product availability and delivery. Represent The Betel Leaf Co.at trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry events.

Qualifications & Skills



Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred). 3-6 years of experience in FMCG sales, business development, or key account management. Strong network in FMCG distribution, retail, or hospitality sectors. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills. Data-driven, analytical mindset with a focus on performance metrics. Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment. Passion for Indian traditions, food innovation, and emerging FMCG trends is a plus.
