Job Description

A Civil Business Development Associate drives growth in the construction/engineering sector by finding new projects, building client relationships (govt., private firms), researching market trends, preparing technical proposals, negotiating contracts, and meeting sales targets, requiring strong industry knowledge, networking, and strategic skills to link company capabilities with client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Market & Strategy:

Research market trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities in civil engineering/infrastructure. Develop and implement business growth strategies.

Client Acquisition:

Identify potential clients (developers, agencies, contractors), generate leads, and prospect for new business.

Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.

Proposal & Sales:

Collaborate with technical teams to create compelling project proposals, present solutions, and negotiate contracts.

Networking:

Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to represent the company and find opportunities.

Reporting:

Prepare sales forecasts, track KPIs, and provide reports to management.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Business; MBA often preferred.

Experience:

Proven track record in business development, particularly within civil, infrastructure, or construction sectors.

Skills:

Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, and strategic thinking; knowledge of CRM tools; ability to understand technical aspects.
