We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented R&D IT Business Data Analyst to serve as a critical liaison between IT, R&D, and cross-functional teams in the Biotech Industry. This role supports the integration and optimization of scientific data systems, ensures robust data governance, and contributes to the digital transformation of biotech R&D operations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, understands the complexities of biotech data, and can translate scientific and business needs into actionable IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Administration & Implementation:
Administer and support R&D IT systems, including Benchling ELN and other biotech applications.
Support implementation and validation of GxP systems following CSV/CSA standards.
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with R&D, Clinical, Quality, Technical Operations, and IT teams to gather and translate complex business needs into functional and technical requirements.
Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring clarity and alignment on data-related initiatives.
Serve as a liaison between internal and external teams.
Data Management & Integration:
Support data collection, cleansing, integration, and governance across systems such as ELN, LIMS, and cloud-based platforms.
Help develop and manage data pipelines, integration plans, and architecture in collaboration with internal IT and MSP partners.
Evaluate and assist in onboarding new tools and platforms to enhance research and data capabilities.
Reporting & Analytics:
Drive design and implement dashboards, KPIs, and data visualizations using tools like Spotfire, Power BI, or other BI platforms.
Perform ad hoc and strategic data analyses to support scientific and operational decision-making.
Collaborate with teams to ensure meaningful representation of insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
UI/UX & Workflow Development:
Assist in the design of user-friendly interfaces, workflows, and wireframes for new or existing R&D systems and applications.
Project & Program Management:
Lead or support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
Identify project risks and dependencies, proposing mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
Provide status updates and insights to leadership and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Preclinical or Laboratory IT experience.
IT support for Benchling ELN/ alternative ELNs, and/or LIMS systems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and scientific audiences.
Strong project management capabilities and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience in querying and analyzing structured and unstructured data.
familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
Understanding of data modeling, data governance, and analytics methodologies.
Experience with some or all the following systems/tools is highly desirable:
GxP Systems for Regulatory, Clinical, Safety, Quality etc.
Development experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Spotfire, Power BI)
Python and/or R language
AWS cloud services (VPC, EC2, S3)
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience working in a biotech, pharma, or life sciences R&D environment.
Comfortable working with senior leadership, scientists, and cross-functional teams.
