Job Description


The Role Responsibilities Hands on exposure on key products / functions / process within custody operations. To partner and run Transformation and Technology agenda for Custody Operations. Support BAU / Operations team to manage business requirements. Team player and support transformation initiatives. Bridge between Operations and Technology. Plan and Execution of Project Deliverables. To perform direct UAT testing. Achieve target deliverables. Business Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services to customers through meeting or exceeding customer expectation guided by the Service Level Agreement, efficiency / accuracy standards and good business processes / judgment. Assist the Head Securities Services in supporting Custody Settlements Transformation and Technology agenda to achieve quality increased Straight Through Processing, Cost efficient and Scalable. Be the enabler to identify process gaps, suggest technical solutions, support direct UAT testing, sync with technology partners and bridge Operations. Enable speed to market / with zero manual touch. Processes Achieves the processing turnaround standards as stipulated in the Service Level Agreement between the dept. and various Spoke countries. Support the roll-out of appropriate quality management systems and achieving the quality objectives and standards set. Complete non-routine assigned task (DR Drill, BCP, load Balance, system related testing, etc) within the set deadline. Achieve Operational Performance Metric standards in terms of Productivity, Output Index, Utilisation, Core time, etc. Manage operational risk appropriately to avoid any operational and / or reputational losses to the Company / Group. Meeting of own performance objectives and contribute in achieving the department\'s objectives. No complaints from customers related to poor and indifferent service attitude and discourtesy. Meeting productivity standards in terms of processing efficiency and accuracy of output. No major adverse findings from internal auditors or external auditors\' reviews. People and Talent Ensure that all staff of the department continues to be equipped and developed with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to achieve the required level of competency to facilitate them to perform their roles and responsibilities effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Coaching Domestic Custody Settlements team members to achieve the desired level of productivity and competency. To ensure team members adhere closely to their Learning & Development plans, in achieving a fully competent, engaged and results driven team. Risk Management Be guided accordingly and aware of the roles and responsibilities for money laundering prevention as stipulated in the Money Laundering Prevention (MLP) Group Policy, Money Laundering & Suspicious Transaction Guidelines for Securities Services Management, Suspicious Money Laundering Transaction Reporting Procedures and / or Monitoring Checklist, and Escalation Procedure for Suspicious Money Laundering Transactions Governance Ensure awareness and full compliance of all laid down rules, regulations, policies, (including Sanctions Policy) guidelines, procedures, practices and code of conduct imposed by the Company/Group. Regulatory and Business Conduct Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\'s Values and Code of Conduct. Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Key Stakeholders Countries respective Regulator, Depository, Central Bank, etc Standard Chartered Bank various countries. Securities Services - Staffs all level. GBS various internal department. Securities Services - GBS hubs Technology partners Head, FMO and FSS Other Responsibilities Reporting, approvals, directions, policies, referrals, discussions relating to operational issues. Referrals and discussions on processing-related issues. Referrals and discussions on systems-related issues. Referrals and discussions on HR-related matters. Clients Lien Accounts and IB Accounts. Foreign Exchange related matters. System Support / Enhancement. Payments related matters. Vendor Management. Our Ideal Candidate Graduate or Post Graduate with Technical background. 5 years of experience with good years of experience with Financial Institutions / Fin Tech / Technology Firms. Exposure to Regional / Domestic Custody Settlements operations, Asset Servicing, Financial Market, derivatives, Capital market and Foreign Exchange. Hands on experience in handling global custodian systems such as Clearstream / Euroclear / BBH / BNY would be an added advantage. Knowledge of various markets trade life cycle, market nuances, special requirements, market participants, trade flow is mandatory. Proven track records in identification of process gaps, process automation, error control and lean projects is mandatory. Knowledge of allied products like corporate actions, Fund services and reference data will be an added advantage. Hands on industrial testing experience on custody domain / business analytics will be an added advantage. Willingness to work in shifts and to cover ASIA, Middle East and African shifts if required. Innovative thinking and having an aptitude / appetite for process improvements. Excellent oral / written communication skill. Eye for detail and technical skillset.
