Inviting applications for the role of Business Analyst, Logistics
In this role as the Business Analyst, B2B, DC to Stores Transportation Operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the transportation processes to & between distribution centers (DCs), retail Stores & ship to home. This position requires strong logistical and operational skills to ensure the efficient movement of goods, timely deliveries, and effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
Transportation Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with distribution centre, merchandising teams, for plan and coordinate transportation activities from vendors & to retail stores.
Oversee the execution of transportation plans to ensure on-time and cost-effective deliveries.
Effective & Continual Track & Trace
Assist in execution & overseeing the entire process of order fulfilment from confirmation to shipment for products destined for home delivery.
Distribution Center appointments & yard management
Ship to home operations, club store requirements.
Exceptions Management for Shipment issues, EDI communication etc in Transport Management System ( TMS)
Route Optimization:
Analyze transportation routes and schedules to identify opportunities for optimization.
Work with carriers and logistics partners to streamline routes, reduce transit times, and minimize costs.
Carrier Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation carriers and service providers.
RFP prep & support in negotiate contracts, rates, and service level agreements with carriers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation services.
Compliance and Regulations:
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry requirements.
Stay updated on changes in transportation laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
Vendor Collaboration:
Work closely with external vendors and transportation providers to resolve issues, track shipments, and improve overall service levels.
Collaborate with vendors, DC's, Stores to implement best practices for efficient transportation operations.
Operational Efficiency:
Implement process improvements to enhance overall transportation efficiency.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
Documentation and Recordkeeping:
Oversee the accurate and timely completion of transportation-related documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and delivery confirmations.
Investigate on instances of Detention, Accessorial etc.
Maintain organized records for auditing and compliance purposes.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, logistics, and warehouse teams, to ensure seamless coordination in transportation operations.
Provide support to teams involved in the end-to-end supply chain process.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate regular reports on transportation performance, costs, and key metrics.
Analyze data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Optimisation of Freight Terms as identified.
Vendor Charge Backs:
Vendor Onboarding,
Manage DC?only chargeback trigger (Manual Trigger, Automated Trigger),
Apply invoice deduction from vendor invoicing Note,
Receive vendor disputes,
Resolve disputes forwarded by Finance,
Generate and Send bi?weekly chargeback reporting,
Conduct vendor performance reviews.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Mgt, or a related field.
Relevant & proven years of experience in transportation operations, with a focus on distribution center to retail store logistics.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
In addition to the above,
Relevant exp in USA / North America Retail experience
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant logistics software.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize transportation operations.
Leadership and team management experience is a plus
