The Business Development Analyst supports the company's growth strategy by analyzing market trends, identifying new business opportunities, evaluating competitors, and providing insights that guide strategic decision-making. This role works closely with sales, marketing, product, and leadership teams to drive revenue expansion and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities1. Market Research & Analysis
Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and potential growth areas.
Analyze industry reports, economic data, and customer insights to support strategic planning.
Evaluate market entry opportunities and assess feasibility, risks, and ROI.
2. Competitive Intelligence
Track competitor activities, pricing, product offerings, and market positioning.
Prepare competitive analysis dashboards and reports to inform strategic decisions.
3. Opportunity Identification & Evaluation
Identify and assess new business opportunities (partnerships, segments, products).
Build business cases, financial models, and feasibility studies for potential initiatives.
Recommend prioritization of opportunities based on data-driven insights.
4. Sales & Revenue Support
Provide analytics support to sales teams (pipeline analysis, territory insights, performance metrics).
Support the creation of proposals, RFP responses, and client presentations with data-driven insights.
5. Strategic Planning & Reporting
Assist in developing quarterly and annual business development strategies.
Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership through reports and presentations.
Track KPIs and measure the impact of BD initiatives.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with product, marketing, operations, and finance on strategic projects.
Provide analytical support for partnership discussions and negotiation processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or related field.
Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Zoho.
Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
Ability to work with large datasets and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and market sizing techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree (MBA or related) is a plus.
Experience in consulting, business strategy, or market research roles.
