Dream Payments is looking for an independent contractor Business Analyst for a 4-month fixed-term role. As a member of our Product team, this individual will report to a Senior Product Manager, working closely with our client delivery and engineering teams to deliver innovative experiences for our customers and partners.

Here's how you'll contribute to the team and customer success:



You'll be involved in all aspects of the product's evolution, including design, function, development, testing, launch, and support. Your work will touch the end-to-end journey of a user's interaction with our products, including proactively identifying new opportunities for improving and building upon our success.

Together with key stakeholders, you'll lead the management and prioritization of the product backlog and roadmap. You'll create user stories and acceptance criteria that clearly explain requirements for each feature or change. Stakeholder communication will be key to ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding features, functionality, and timelines. Your technical expertise will shine as you act as the bridge to the development and quality teams, so that they understand the business side of the product and that you understand key technical capabilities and constraints. You'll also help verify that the finished product meets the needs of customers by being involved in support incidents and reviewing client feedback.

Working across the product lifecycle will enable you to build deep customer empathy based on a 360-degree view of the solution, and as a result, you'll contribute to the management and evolution of the product roadmap.

Responsibilities:



Engage with our product managers and clients to understand the needs, pain points, and business processes of our end-customers. Help to maintain and execute against a prioritized product roadmap f Interface with internal teams and key partners to gain traction on use cases and flows and collectively design the right solution that adds value to our customers. Document and maintain user stories, assist in defining the application user experience, create work-flow diagrams and functional descriptions as well as prototypes to assist with development. Work closely with the tech and design teams; help develop, communicate, and implement product releases. Provide effective handoffs of project deliverables to the development team by collaborating to create business and technical documentation. Collaborate with the cross-functional team to ship product releases on time. Participate in test planning and execution activities, defining testing acceptance criteria. Provide product support and representation for client delivery initiatives. Serve as the primary subject focal for our team from a product and functional management perspective to help guide team priorities and incident escalation. Perform all other related duties based on the changing needs of the organization, the department, and the role.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, Engineering, or Computer Science, or possess equivalent work experience. 3 or more years of prior experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner. You have a strong understanding of small business and merchant needs in an omni-channel context. You have a proven record of designing and delivering solutions in partnership with sales, business development, technology and support teams with successful end to end product launch. Ability to work independently within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to stakeholders and to juggle multiple initiatives at once. You have excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate your ideas, designs, and suggestions internally and externally. You have scrum or agile experience. You are proficient in design and prototyping tools such as Figma. You pay strong attention to detail and have a keen eye for aesthetics. You have strong planning and priority management skills. You are a strong team player who can collaborate effectively with different stakeholders. Prior experience working in Payments and/or Fintech with a focus on payment processing is an asset. Prior hands-on experience investigating and troubleshooting production support issues is an asset. Understanding of ITIL service management framework is an asset. Knowledge of AWS Cloud technology is an asset. Knowledge of PCI and SOC2 standards is an asset.
