Native fluency in English and Burmese (Certification Required: B2 and above/Grad & Masters/Native; OCI required if not a citizen of India).
Advanced understanding of cultural dynamics, idiomatic expressions, and cultural implications of the language.
Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills for high accuracy.
Ability to concentrate, remain neutral, and detached during conversations.
Capacity to explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication, with client permission.
Responsibilities
Provide live interpretation between English and Burmese during calls from US helpline numbers.
Accurately render concepts and meanings while maintaining clarity, tone, and style, adhering to grammar and syntax rules in both languages.
Deliver strict renditions of messages, capturing every detail of the conversation, including challenging calls.
Employ strong customer service and communication skills, ensuring clear enunciation and a professional demeanor.
Follow client instructions to manage call flow without taking over, avoiding interaction with limited English speakers without permission.
Stay calm and composed during calls, especially in emergency situations or when speakers are upset.
Maintain punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours.
Ensure reliable internet access for work-related communication.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information
Applicants should be comfortable with rotational shifts, including night shifts.
