Job Description

The Building Construction Engineer will be responsible for planning, execution, supervision, and quality control (QC) of construction activities at site. The role ensures that all works are executed as per approved drawings, technical specifications, safety norms, and quality standards, while meeting project timelines and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Construction & Site Execution

Supervise day-to-day construction activities including civil, structural, finishing, and services coordination. Ensure execution as per approved drawings, BOQs, method statements, and specifications. Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors. Monitor work progress and prepare daily/weekly progress reports. Plan manpower, materials, machinery, and resources efficiently. Implement and monitor Quality Control procedures at all stages of construction. Ensure materials used at site comply with approved samples, specifications, and test reports. Conduct inspections for: RCC works (reinforcement, shuttering, concreting) Masonry, plastering, waterproofing Finishing works (tiles, paint, joinery) Coordinate and verify material testing (cube tests, soil tests, steel tests, etc.). Identify quality deviations, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and ensure corrective actions. Maintain QC documentation, checklists, inspection records, and test reports. Ensure compliance with ISO / internal quality standards (if applicable). Ensure adherence to safety standards and statutory regulations at site. Conduct toolbox talks and support site safety audits. Ensure work permits and safety practices are followed by contractors. Liaise with project managers for planning, execution, and issue resolution. Attend site meetings and coordinate inspections with clients/consultants. Assist in certification of contractor bills based on measured work. Support snag-list preparation and project handover activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in

Civil Engineering

Relevant certifications in

Quality Management / Construction Safety

(preferred)

Experience & Skills

Strong knowledge of building construction practices and QC procedures Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications Familiarity with IS codes, quality standards, and testing procedures Hands-on experience in site execution and quality inspections Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD (basic), and reporting tools Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
