Job Description

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and improve teams of software engineers with various skills, so that a high-quality end product is delivered. To provide technical guidance, to support analysis and design in order to deliver products aligned to the customer's requirements and company standards.

Key responsibilities:

Participates in the entire software development cycle - requirements analysis, design and development, testing and documentation - across multiple projects

Accountable for timely delivery and code quality of agreed projects

Sets objectives for team members and empowers team to achieve them. Monitors progress. Ensures appropriate individual objectives are aligned and set to team objectives

Works with Lead Engineers to encourage technical and personal growth of the team members and to ensure effective skill set distribution in the team

Delivers trainings and participates in knowledge sharing

Responsible for long-term code reusability and stability

Responsible for compliance and following of the code review process across teams

Leads initiatives related to optimisations in various areas (processes, tools, approaches)

Responsible for overall quality of the product

Proactively identifies issues in the team and formulates strategies to resolve them

Ensures lines of succession are in place

Adopts industry best practices and industry standards as best suited to the organisation

Evaluates new technologies
