Role Objective:



The

Brand Manager

represents the D2C brand's vision on-ground, ensuring

strategic alignment

with business goals, delivering an exceptional

customer journey

, and maintaining a strong

product feedback loop

between customers and brand teams.
This role connects

marketing strategy, customer insights, and sales execution

, ensuring that every interaction enhances brand perception and drives measurable growth.

Strategic Alignment:



Align every in-store activity with the brand's overall marketing and customer engagement strategy. Maintain deep understanding of the brand's mission, product positioning, and key differentiators. Act as a brand guardian to ensure tone, message, and visual identity remain consistent across touchpoints. Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and CX teams to ensure campaign goals are translated into measurable field execution. Contribute to building a unified D2C customer experience strategy by sharing ground-level insights.

Customer Journey Management:



Design and deliver an

exceptional customer journey

-- from brand discovery to post-purchase engagement. Understand customer personas and tailor communication accordingly. Ensure that each customer touchpoint (demo, sampling, purchase) is seamless and on-brand. Track customer interactions, analyze behavioral patterns, and recommend experience improvements. Support loyalty-building by promoting repeat engagement and word-of-mouth marketing.

Product Feedback Loop:



Act as a bridge between customers and the brand's product development and marketing teams. Collect structured and actionable feedback from consumers regarding taste, quality, usability, packaging, and pricing. Maintain records of recurring issues, trends, and suggestions to improve product offerings. Identify opportunities for product innovation or new SKUs based on regional preferences. Participate in internal review meetings to present consumer insights and help shape new product launches.

Core Responsibilities (Detailed):



1.Brand Visibility & Merchandising



Execute in-store/online branding and visual merchandising as per brand guidelines. Ensure planogram compliance, correct pricing, and updated promotional display materials (POSM). Maintain product hygiene, availability, and presentation on shelves. Regularly audit store branding/online market places for wear-outs or outdated materials and request replacements.

Customer Interaction & Conversion



Engage customers and create an emotional connection with the brand story. Educate customers on product features, benefits, and USPs through live demos and storytelling. Handle objections confidently and guide customers toward informed purchase decisions. Convert product trials into sales while maintaining a consultative and friendly tone.

3. Market Intelligence & Competitor Tracking



Observe competitor activities, visibility, pricing, and customer reactions. Identify emerging trends, regional preferences, and gaps in the product mix. Provide timely reports on competitor promotions and consumer feedback patterns. Help the brand remain competitive and agile in evolving market conditions.

4. Training & Process Adherence



Attend regular brand and product training sessions to stay updated. Follow grooming, communication, and brand presentation standards consistently. Maintain discipline, punctuality, and reporting accuracy. Assist in training new promoters and support team onboarding.

5. Data & Reporting



Submit detailed reports on sales, footfall, and engagement metrics. Log qualitative feedback such as customer emotions, pain points, and recurring themes. Use CRM or digital tools for structured data entry and performance tracking. Collaborate with marketing analytics teams for data-driven campaign reviews.

Educational Qualification:



Graduate in Marketing, Business, Retail, or Consumer Behaviour (preferred). Training or certification in

Customer Experience / Brand Communication / Merchandising

(added advantage).

Experience Criteria for Brand Manager Candidates



Minimum 5-8 Years in Brand Management Proven track record in building and scaling consumer brands, preferably in FMCG, health foods, or clean-label categories.

Experience in D2C and Omnichannel Strategy Hands-on experience in launching and managing brands across digital platforms, retail, and institutional channels.

Campaign Leadership Across Diverse Markets Led successful brand campaigns in urban and rural India, with sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity.

Product Positioning in Innovation-Driven Categories Experience promoting tech-enabled or research-backed products (e.g., functional foods, nutraceuticals, sustainability-driven offerings).

Impact Storytelling & Cause-Driven Branding Demonstrated ability to craft narratives around social impact, sustainability, or community empowerment--ideally with tribal or farmer-based initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Worked closely with R&D, sales, design, and operations to ensure brand consistency and product-market fit.

Data-Driven Brand Optimization Familiarity with brand health metrics, consumer insights, and performance dashboards to guide strategic decisions.

Experience with Packaging, Visual Identity & QR-Based Engagement Exposure to packaging innovation, traceability tools, and interactive brand formats (e.g., QR codes, single-serve formats)
