Machine operation:

Program, set up, and operate CNC boring machines to manufacture parts.

Job setup:

Handle and set up heavy jobs, and install various types of tooling.

Quality control:

Maintain equipment, adhere to quality and safety standards, and keep detailed records.

Reading blueprints:

Interpret engineering and process drawings to ensure parts are made to specification.

Maintenance:

Calibrate and perform basic maintenance on the machinery and other tools.
Required skills and knowledge

Technical knowledge:

A strong understanding of CNC machines and how to program and troubleshoot them.

Mechanical aptitude:

A good understanding of how machines work and the properties of the materials being machined.

CNC controls:

Experience with specific CNC controllers, such as Fanuc.

Drawing interpretation:

The ability to read and understand engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Tooling and instruments:

Knowledge of all types of tooling and how to use measurement instruments.
