The Boiler Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of boilers and related utility systems. This role ensures adherence to statutory norms, preventive maintenance schedules, and uninterrupted steam generation to support plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day boiler operations to ensure safe and efficient steam generation
Monitor boiler parameters such as pressure, temperature, fuel consumption, and water levels
Ensure compliance with boiler safety standards, statutory regulations, and pollution control norms
Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance activities
Coordinate with maintenance, production, and utility teams to minimize downtime
Maintain boiler logbooks, inspection records, and statutory documentation
Manage boiler operators and technicians, including shift allocation and training
Handle fuel management (coal, biomass, gas, oil) and optimize fuel efficiency
Coordinate with government boiler inspectors during audits and inspections
Identify operational improvements and implement energy-saving initiatives
Mandatory Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of boiler operations and safety procedures
Experience with IBR / Non-IBR boilers
Understanding of water treatment, blowdown systems, and combustion control
Ability to read technical drawings and SOPs
Leadership and team-handling skills
Basic computer knowledge (logs, reports, MS Excel)
Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Boiler Operation / Boiler Attendant Certificate (as per state regulations)
