Operate and monitor boiler systems, ensuring they function safely and efficiently.
Experience Range 1 - 3 yrs
Relevant experience of operating boiler of min. 750 kg./hr. capacity shall be given preference
Mandatory to have IBR Boiler Certification.
Adjust controls to generate specified amounts of steam or heat.
Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts to ensure proper operation.
Conduct routine checks and inspections of boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Perform routine maintenance on boilers and related equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair boiler systems to address malfunctions or breakdowns.
Clean and lubricate parts as needed.
Replace or repair valves, gauges, feedwater lines, and other boiler components.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding boiler operation.
Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and operational logs.
Conduct safety checks and inspections.
Optimize boiler efficiency and performance through regular maintenance and adjustments.
Monitor fuel consumption and adjust controls to ensure efficient fuel usage.
Implement energy-saving measures and identify opportunities for improving system performance.
Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages, system failures, or safety hazards.
Implement emergency shutdown procedures if necessary.
Coordinate with other departments and personnel during emergencies to ensure safety and minimize downtime.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in boiler operation is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating and maintaining boilers or similar equipment.
Licensure/Certification:
Boiler Operator license or certification as required by local regulations.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of boiler systems, controls, and safety protocols.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
